Drones and ISIS Combat

drones in ukraine conflict

Although the United States, Russia, as well as other countries, want to use modern aircraft more often, Ukraine lacks the resources necessary to train its troops on these aircraft. While the Ukrainians do have training on aircraft and vehicles in Western countries like Germany, they are not able to get the same training on drones in Ukraine. Because Ukrainians have grown up using older equipment, such as trucks, drones are easier for them. In addition, drones do not require "pilots," making them easy for soldiers to use. Drones are also easy to use, similar to those in video games.

Aerorozvidka

Ukrainian military employs a unique method to fight ISIS in eastern Ukraine. They use octocopters that are equipped with thermal cameras for nighttime operations. Some drones come with anti-tank weapons. They can also light up columns. These drones are highly maneuverable, and can carry as much 11 lbs payload. Because they are small, drones can be flown low and over targets to drop munitions.

Aerorozvidka began as an IT enthusiast group. It has since evolved into a military air reconnaissance unit. Aerorozvidka started out as a civilian drone business. Over time, however, it has evolved to a full-fledged unit that is headed by its own leader. Because of export control, the Ukrainian government prevented Russian military planes from entering the country. Since many of the components of the drones are manufactured in the US, Aerorozvidka relies on donations and crowdfunding to help keep the company going.

Switchblade

The U.S. military provides Ukraine with armed Swaitchblade drones. These can be used to strike Russian tanks up to a mile away. These unmanned aircraft vehicles were created by the US Air Force in response a Ukrainian request. John Kirby from the Pentagon stated that over 121 of these machines were being sent to Ukraine. But there is no concrete information on how the Switchblades will be used in the conflict in Ukraine.

The Switchblade is a small drone with a 40-kilometer range. It can be launched from a tube. The Switchblade has a range of 40 kilometers and can hit Russian convoys up to 6 miles, unlike Bayraktar. These small aircraft can set up quickly in a conflict like Ukraine. The Switchblade can fly much faster than the Bayraktar (current U.S. ally).

Russian kamikaze drones

The US announced recently that they would be providing $800 million of military aid to Ukraine. One part of that package includes the delivery to Ukraine of 121 unmanned aircraft known as "Phoenix Ghosts," which will terrorize Russian forces. These aircraft are designed for flying over areas for up to thirty to forty minutes and come equipped with warheads, cameras, and other equipment. One such drone is the Switchblade, a 5.5-pound hovering munition that can take out armored vehicles and tanks.

These lightweight, small aircrafts can be operated from land, sea, and air thanks to their powerful, low-flying, gimbal. In a conflict like this, any advantage an opponent has over the other side in the aerial battle is important, and the use of Russian kamikaze drones is a direct threat to that advantage. This capability will likely be key to Ukraine's military, as it can easily break Russian sieges and attack command-and-control nodes. While such capabilities would be a major liability for both sides, if a small drone can make a difference on the battlefield, Ukraine could emerge as the victor.

U.S. loitering drones

Russia has begun integrating its ZALA KYB loitering munitions into the military arsenal of the country. These drones have the ability to use deadly loitering munition in the style of bazookas. These autonomous killing machines may be more common in black markets if loitering drones are used. However, experts and pundits have expressed concern about this. So what can the U.S. do to stop this from happening?

Kirby states that the U.S. government had sent more than 121 Switchblade loitering drones into Ukraine to aid Kiev defeat Russian forces. The Switchblade drone is 5.5 pounds and can hover over an area for thirty to forty minutes. It includes a camera, a warhead and a microphone. It's intended mission is to attack the opposition forces in Ukraine.

How To

Repairing A Damaged Drone Motor

To repair a motor damaged, the first step is to identify which part is broken. It is easy to do this by removing the propeller shaft from the motor shaft. Then remove any wires and take a look at the motor's inner workings. If you notice something amiss, you'll know what part of your motor to fix.

If there is no damage to the motor, then you don't have to worry too much however if the motor looks like one of these images below, then you'll need to replace some components before you can fly again.

Imagine a motor that isn't turning anymore because it has been bent. You will need to bend it back into shape. You could use a vice grip or a pair of pliers to hold the motor while bending it back into shape. After you're done, check your motor for signs of wear.

Once you are satisfied with everything, mount the propeller on the motor shaft. Reattach the wires. Now you are ready to fly your drone!
